Terms of Service
Last updated: April 23, 2026
The short version: Use Hold On for personal, non-commercial reflection. Don't abuse it, don't try to crack it open, and don't use it as medical or mental-health advice. The paid version is a one-time purchase via your app store, refunds follow that store's policy.
1. Agreement
By installing or using Hold On (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Hold On on devices you own or control, for personal and non-commercial purposes. The App and its content are owned by Neralaiko and protected by copyright and trademark law.
3. Your account & data
Hold On doesn't require an account. Everything you write stays on your device. You are responsible for backing up anything you don't want to lose — uninstalling the App deletes all local data.
4. Purchases & refunds
- Hold On Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple or Google.
- Your purchase is tied to your App Store / Play Store account and can be restored on any device signed into that account.
- Refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's policies — not ours. Request them through reportaproblem.apple.com (iOS) or the Play Store (Android).
- We reserve the right to adjust pricing or features of future purchases; your existing lifetime license is unaffected.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass the paywall or gating logic.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App.
- Use the App to harass others or violate any law.
- Interfere with the App's operation or the security of other users' devices.
6. Not medical or mental-health advice
Hold On is a journaling tool for personal reflection. It is not a medical device and the prompts, insights, and mood summaries are not clinical advice. If you are struggling with your mental health, please contact a qualified professional. In an emergency, call your local emergency number or a crisis hotline.
7. Third-party services
The App uses third-party services (Apple, Google, RevenueCat, PostHog) as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of the App is subject to their terms too. We are not responsible for the availability or behavior of those services.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your particular needs.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Neralaiko and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the App is limited to the amount you paid for Hold On in the past twelve months (which, for the lifetime purchase, is at most $9.99).
10. Termination
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be surfaced in-app.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Vilnius, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
